Welcome to the Golden Isles Chapter
The Golden Isles Chapter of MOAA was chartered in 1964. Our
membership lives in the Golden Isles area of Brunswick, St. Simons Island,
Jekyll Island, Sea Island and surroundings counties.
We meet on the second Sunday for a luncheon or dinner meeting
in September, November, December, February and April at the King and Prince
Hotel on St. Simons Island, GA. Our dress code is coat and tie for the gentlemen
and appropriate attire for the Ladies.
We have a social hour and a served dinner followed by a
formal program. We have been able to attract prominent national, as well as
local speakers for our programs.
Each year the chapter provides a scholarship to a student
from each of the three Glynn County High Schools. All students in good standing
are eligible to apply for these scholarships.
Membership is open to active duty, retired, National Guard,
reserve, former commissioned officers and warrant officers of the Army, Marine
Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service, and National Oceanic
and Atmospheric Administration. Auxiliary memberships are also available for
surviving spouses of deceased officers.
